I.V. Sedation
Dental Implants:
If you are missing a single tooth or all your teeth, you may be a candidate for dental implants.
Many people who now have full or partial dentures can eliminate the discomfort, embarrassment and
uncertainty they now experience and begin to enjoy life again.

We can give your smile a real lift!
A smile makeover refers to any combination of cosmetic dental procedures that enhances the beauty and appearance of the smile, correcting almost any problem. Crooked teeth can be straightened, chipped or broken teeth can be repaired, missing teeth can be replaced, gaps between teeth can be closed, gummy smiles can be recontoured, and stained or discolored teeth can be whitened. |
Nitrous Oxide (Inhalation Conscious Sedation)
The use of inhalation conscious sedation (nitrous oxide and oxygen) has been a mainstay of sedation techniques in dentistry for generations and still represents the most frequently employed technique.
Commonly known as laughing gas, nitrous oxide-oxygen is used by more than 35% of all U.S. dentists.
An advantage of this technique of inhalation conscious sedation is that most people receiving it recover promptly and may be permitted to leave the dental office unescorted and resume normal activities immediately.
Inhalation conscious sedation is most effective with mild to moderate degrees of dental anxiety.
I.V. Sedation:
Fear of dentistry is a significant impediment to care for a large segment of the population.
Recent research has indicated that the number one reason adults postpone needed dental care was fear! That's right, not time, not money, but fear!
You could be a candidate for sedation dentistry if you have any of the following:
- Fear of dental treatment
- History of traumatic dental experiences
- Difficulty getting numb
- Very sensitive gag reflex or difficulty opening
- Extremely sensitive teeth
- Limited time to get your dental care completed
- Complex dental problems; or a need for surgery
- Above average disdain for “getting numb”
- In denial of a dental problem until the pain is unbearable
- Have not received professional dental care in many years, perhaps decades
- Often make and then cancel dental appointments
- Make numerous, lengthy phone calls to the dentist's office
- Experience sweaty palms or find yourself gripping the armrests
... then yes, you are a candidate and we can help you!
How I.V. Sedation Works:
With safe and proven techniques, patients receive sedative drugs which work rapidly to create a relaxed state that is maintained and monitored throughout treatment.
Sedation dentistry allows you to be sedated just enough to be unaware of the treatment, as if you were relaxing. You will not be unconscious.
Beyond creating an optimal environment for you, the patient, we can perform procedures with minimal pain and ease your fear and anxiety, making the experience much less traumatic.
Drugs administered intravenously are more effective than the same drugs taken orally. A major benefit of some of these IV drugs is amnesia.
You will have no memory of some, or even all, of the dental treatment. This will lead you to think you were asleep during the treatment when, in reality, you were awake, but comfortable, at all times.
During the procedure, monitoring devices will be attached. These devices monitor the effectiveness of one's breathing (pulse oximeter), blood pressure and heart rate, increasing the safety of the procedure.
Patients receiving IV conscious sedation are not permitted to leave the dental office unescorted at the conclusion of the procedure.
